we had this yellow guy pop out from between our rocks the other day and I'm not sure what it is .To me it looks like a baby brain. Its the size of two eraser heads put side by side. What do you think?

Possibly a couple heads of caulastrea? It looks a bit like "kryptonite" candy cane to me, but hard to tell from the pic. Any chance of a shot of the skeletal structure? Is it growing from a branch or does it have a somewhat flat skeleton below it? I'd glue it to a rock or frag plug and relocate it because it might get buried in the sand if you leave it where it is now. Congrats on the hitchhiker!

yeah looking at some pics online I think I agree I'm going to put it on a plug and check out the bottom and see what I got .thanks guys

I just got it glued to a plug but when I had it out didn't seem to have a stem it had a few pieces of the sand stuck to it like they were glued to it or that the bottom had a sticky substance holding the sand on. so I don't know what that is

Do you have any other candy cane corals in the tank? I have had other types of LPS come detached from the stony skeleton and float around and I am wondering if this is what you have going on.

be neat to see what it turns out to be - keep us updated with new pics as it grows! does look like a candy cane but who knows...
