Just picked up a hammer coral and found these in my dip.

I think these are(were) brittle starfish

no idea what this is

Those are micro brittle stars in the first picture. (good) The second picture kind of looks like red bubble algae. (bad)

yup star fish. The second could be red valonia. red bubble algae. Its nasty. id consider a another follow up dip and look close.

Those are probably dead because they came out in the dip, right?

Dipped again and scrubbed the heck out of it with a toothbrush, again
Nothing more came off.
Here's a better pic of the red thing. It looks like one of my kid's fruit gummies.

Luckily, I have read enough here to know to dip. The guy told me there was no need, but I didn't want to take any chances. I don't see any more, but I'll keep a close eye.
