I changed my filter socks this afternoon and accidentally grabbed them out of the wrong bucket.....ones that had been rinsed out a few weeks ago after use and were dried out. A couple of hours later I got a chance to go back downstairs after the family left and the tank looks bad. Most of my SPS have no polyp extension, a couple look like they may be bleaching. All of my euphyllia are shrunk but not retracted. All zoas are closed. A couple of acans look ok, one is retracted. All fish seem to be fine. Rock flower nemes appear to be fine.

Could the dirty filter socks cause this? I'm mixing water (usually have some on hand but just did a water change yesterday) and I have carbon running in both of my reactors. Anything else I can do?

ammonia reducing pads from PetCo or Petsmart, if you have ammonia in your system. Just do a WC and keep the carbon running. Short of running ozone to break down the organics and non organics, you are doing everything that we know how to do at this point in reefing...
