If I swap out aquabus cable?

I have the newest version of the Apex and was just curious if i swap out the aquabus cable that connects the EB832 to the EL base unit, will i have to link everything again (WiFi, etc.)? Or will it just go back to the way i have it set up once it is reconnected? I just want to swap it for a shorter cable for aesthetic reasons. Not a big deal, but just wondering if it will be a 5 second job or a 15 minute job. Thanks!
