Title was supposed to read:

“If these are flukes, why didn’t a freshwater dip do anything?“

Stage 1 for this baby Purple Tang was observation, then a 14-day TTM because I saw Ich after the LFS’s low level copper ‘wore off.’ Good news: No more Ich after TTM.

Stage 2 was into a sterile tank for more observation, and now I see what looks like flukes (and a lateral line problem, as well as some facial skin issues). As to the flukes, I dosed with General Cure about 2 hours ago, and it did seem that the fish shook with some occasional spasms. But the more I thought about the extent of the flukes, I decided to do a 5-min. fresh water dip for some immediate relief. It doesn’t seem to have dislodged any flukes (I used a black bucket), and the fish still appears as in the photo.

Suggestions? Do I just need to wait for the General Cure to kick in?

Skin flukes are usually the easiest to remove with a FW dip. So based on your results, those spots are probably the wounds healing from the Ich insertion points. The darn things burrow a bit under the skin.

Thank you! So now I just ride-out the healing process and follow through with the General Cure in 5-7 days?

Consider boosting the fish's immune system to help with the healing of those insertion wounds and the HLLE. Highly recommend adding Beta Glucan to the fish's food. Food + Beta Glucan + Focus (binder) + a bit of RO or tank water. More info on BG below:
