IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE FISH WHICH WOULD IT BE?

hey guys i’m trying to find one unique fish (reef safe) to keep in my new 20g “frag” tank. it’s 36” wide and 18” deep, i thought instead of going for another 30g cube i’d try out something wider! i really want to get just 1 unique fish that you usually wouldn’t keep in a cube and am hoping the options open up with the width!
(ps wont be having a lid)

As for the fish, I love my lawnmower blenny! Orange spot blennies, starry blennies, and similar are very pretty. The personality of my blenny is why he is so great. Truly a funny fish.

hahaha lawnmower blenny was first on my list !! we have so many at my job they’re hilarious. check this guy out lol

hahahah, a copperband never popped in my head actually! i’m thinking the only flow will be coming from my return pump at 436gph

I think it would be a great fit. If its the only (or one of a few) fish in that tank with that flow rate I think you have a pretty high chance of success. I have owned a few in the past with my most recent one surviving for a little over a year before abruptly dying one night. It was the smartest fish in my tank. Anyone who owns one probably knows what I’m talking about haha. They seem to recognize people and know when its time to eat. I would hand feed it in the corner away from all the other fish.

Yeah a blenny would be fine. The biggest issue is with other fish out competing it for food.

Aiptasia eating file fish? Not sure what it'd do to everything else you wanted to keep in there though!

And a CBB is okay for a 36”x18” 20 gal? Don’t they get big? I’m curious cause I have the same dims. Way too much flow for one but it’s interesting, does the increased length open up additional stocking options despite the low volume

I think it would do better in a tank like that than a 200 gallon reef with high flow and 30+ other fish.
