Welcome, All!

My name is Kenny aka kennysreef on Instagram, so please follow!

I started in the hobby in 2019, and I've gone through many Nano tanks. This is my first step in the Big Boys Club (Yay!)

Now let's list the equipment below:

Tank: Innovative Marine 100 EXT

Sump: Fiji Cube Adv Sump 36"

Return Pump: Ecotech M2

Skimmer: Aquamaxx Q-2

Filter Roller: Klir Drop in 4"

Lights: Aquatic Life T5 Hybrid DX18 (unfortunately, it's black) with 2 XR15 G5 Blue

My current dilemma is how to properly do the plumbing! I'm open to ideas and input from others that have the same type of sump.

Plumbing looks good. I think you are going to have very uneven flow through the return though. You should have a valve after the T on the vertical line so you can create head pressure and force water down the horizontal pipe. Maybe you can replace that union with a true union ball valve.

Looks amazing. But I agree that the T is a bad idea. You will want to aim the return to the center of tank and split with a wye. Or use a t but have the water hit the dead end and split left and right.

There’s been test that actually the difference is really insignificant, and based on prior experience have not ran into any problems running as such. Water pressure will find the easiest way out even if one output is further than the other.

I’ll definitely see if it’s possible to add maybe a ball valve, but I think it require me to cut a lot of plumbing.
Water testing tonigt I’ll keep y’all updated.

Please do. I have a tank coming soon and if your test works out. I may copy you.
water will always find path of least resistance, to me the straight path looks like the least resistance. It does look really
Clean though. Good luck

I did the brs diy kit, later down the road ill go acrylic with a net , hybrid ($200-300 i think)

but the cheap $60 and some diy i have a net over my 6ft x 2.5 ft tank

any updates?
a very interesting clean looking build.
