I'm getting the hydra 52s this week! So excited cant wait. What percentage you guys think I should start them at?

What corals do you have in your tank? And have you used leds before? Just from my experience with the original AI and sol blues, start them low like 30% low and gradually increase them. I've bleached a few sps and chalice corals by not acclimating them.

Mainly all sps and yeah I've used multiple led fixtures. I'm way excited but got a call two days ago saying out of stock for a week or two :(

Adjust the lights at what you want the balance to be AFTER acclimation (there are endless mixtures on this forum, each have their own reasons...pick one). I was advised to be careful with UV and Violet & go conservative on those two. I have a mixed bag of coral in my tank, and the highest LED's will end up at 70% after acclimation. THEN, set the acclimation mode for 4-6 weeks, starting at 50%. It will rise by itself for the prescribed time. Too easy. After 3 1/2 weeks, I haven't bleached anything, and I have SPS right near the top of the tank. Coral response is very favorable! Another note, I set the chance of storms at 20%. I added lightning, but when lightning went off, scared the %$^$ out of my wife when she was watching TV!

By the way, I'm using the "New Controller" for now. Actually running the light fixtures on two different tanks with one controller (basically the same inhabitants). Seems to work once you figure it out. The Director has more options, if you need them.
