Are these guys melters or are they decently easy to take care of? I have a line on some id like to get tomorrow for a decent price ($35/head) and I want to know if I'm risking a lot or if they are hardy.

Thanks y'all

Illuminati seem to be pretty good, although I would start them off in lower light. Darth mauls are melters, make sure you know what you buy because they look almost exactly the same

How do I tell the difference? I asked the LFS owner and he said illuminati. They're black with a red ring and red speckles.

They’re both very prone to morphing, I guess the most reliable way to tell would be Darth Maul have a more orange color than red and are like 80% orange whereas Illuminati are more red and have a lot of black? If the LFS is keeping them alive okay, I wouldn’t worry too much

He said they grow fast for him. What I saw today had almost 0 orange. They were probably 80% black and the red specks didn’t show up super great until I had the orange shades on. I saw them and it’s the first time I’ve seen them in person and I fell in love. Is 35$/head a decent price?

If you look at the marketplace, most people sell them for between $10-$20 a polyp. Your choice though, I don’t know the area you’re in and after shipping costs LFS is probably cheaper. And you won’t have to deal with DOA and delays :)

I’m in Nashville but I don’t live here. I’m down visiting family, I live in another state and there is nothing near me.

Illuminati are pretty hardy and grow well. Not crazy fast but certainly not slow. If you like them, buy them. Coral prices are all over the place. $15 to $20 PP is about right from Hobbyists in my area. So LFS price is about right.

These are Darth Maul. Quite a bit different in person. I've had them a long time.
