I'm seeing this tank advertised all over the place for around $200. But I can't get a definitive answer as to what all exactly comes with it. If anybody owns this tank and has purchased it for just the tank please list what it all came with. Specifically the stuff that is in the back or sump area of the tank. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to R2R. :-)

My all time favorite AIO.

Features:
  • Dimensions: Length: 24” Width: 15” Height: 13”
  • 6mm High Clarity Low Iron Glass
  • Mesh Screen Top with Clips
  • Dual Built-in Overflows
  • Rubber Leveling Mat
  • x2 200 Micron Filter Socks
  • 11W 110v/60Hz 211 GPH Return Pumps
  • Includes flexible hose and return elbow with directional flow nozzle

So the "upgrade" media baskets for both sides would be a need? Suggest 2, 1 for each side or just the one side? The ghost skimmer is pretty expensive, almost as much as the tank. Any other less expensive skimmers that will A fit and B work?

You can do one media basket in one side and the intank filter floss one on the other. I have the ghost skimmer but its no really good, bunch of micro bubbles and loses its setting easily. I just ordered an aquamax hob 1.5. There is a video on marine depot that shows what other stuff fits in the chambers.

I love my Nuvo 20. I recommend replacing the stock pump with a Sicce. My stock pump failed within a year. I run one media basket and just stuff floss on the other side.

The ghost skimmer works, but has some noise. No micro bubbles once broken in.

I took out the filter socks and replaced them with filter sponges, fluval 406 ones fit perfectly. I use a fluval 306 as a media reactor with matrix, carbon and purigen. My ghost skimmer never worked like it should havent even been able to sell it lol.

For those who upgraded the caddy. What's in the 3 spots?

Another question about this mythical tank.

If I upgrade the return pump to something in the 300 to 400 GPU area, would that be too much?

As far as powerheads, in my previous system I had the korila nano units and I liked them for their simplicity. In this 20 gallon tank, should I do 240 or the 425 GPU option? Ideally, one pump on one side of the tank with the return doing dome of the flow work too.

Between 300 and 400 should be fine. With the powerhead, a 300 gph one would work too. But remember that with the upgraded return pump you are also getting increased flow in the main tank, if your flow gets too strong it will start blowing your sand all over the place.

Would a 75 watt heater be enough for this tank or should it be 100 watts? Maybe 75 is over kill? Gah...ive been out of the hobby too long.

I have a the IM 25 Nano, look at Dr Foster and Smith and see if they will sale at a discount, thats what I did 25% off.
