I’m sure this has been done and asked before but I’m going to ask for suggestions, I have the mighty jet 325 mp return pump with the Y connection for both nozzles, I just feel like I’m not getting enough movement going in and out, I’ve called IM asking if I could upgrade to the 500 series but they said it would not fit back there, so my question is, is anyone using a different return pump that they really like or instead of just one pump with the y connection tubing , using 2 separate pumps? Also I have the IM protein skimmer in the second right chamber, refugium basket in 2nd left chamber and using custom caddies for the return chambers. Tank has been running for 10 mos.
any suggestions would truly be appreciated:)

Thank you, will be checking this pump out!!
No problem I really enjoy it and talk a little about the nice features it has for my AIO25 Lagoon!

I think your only option for that much flow will be 2 separate pumps. 2x Sicce 1.5's perhaps. Or 2x MJ1200's.

Uh-oh...I just ordered the MightyJet 538 GPH for my AI Lagoon 25 -- from their measurements of the pump on their site and the size of the sump chamber on the tank I thought it would fit. What sealed it for me was that on the IM site for the pump there is a Q&A section where someone asked if it would fit in the 25 AIO and an IM employee replied "yes". I guess I'll find out soon if it will work.

Otherwise, I had been looking at the Jebao DCW-2000 pump on Amazon -- its a 528 GPH pump and it is 2.5" wide according to what's listed on Amazon which makes it the same size as the stock Mightyjet 325 in the 25 Lagoon. Though I had found that the measurements listed on Amazon for products can often be wrong -- and I was unable to confirm the measurement even on the jebao.com site...so I didn't end up getting it. I've had their wave maker pumps in the past and they have been good though, and the DCW-2000 is under $60 which makes it really cheap for a DC pump in that flow range/size. Just thought I'd put that out there.

Please let me know because that was my first choice, but when I called IM and talked to one of their customers reps he said it wouldn’t fit, I really like the the mighty jets , if it does fit that will be my choice, thank you so much!!!

Stay FAR, FAR away from the maxijets - they are decent pumps in terms of water flow, but they are very noisy, rattling things. Good for utility pumps, but have no place in a display IME. At least if you value your ability to hear anything else in the same room. I would not imagine what two of them as return pumps a few feet from my ears would be like.

Cobalt MJ1200 is good, but hard to find. Marineland MJ1200 not great. I should have specified.

Yes, the IM MightyJet 538 does indeed fit into the IM Fusion Lagoon 25. Barely. I know the Lagoon 25 manual lists the back chamber as 2.8" wide and the IM website says the Mightyjet 538 is 2.75", but I was concerned that the 2.8" wide chamber measurement didn't take into account the glass sheet that's behind the black acrylic separator. It certainly does, and the 538 fits in there with a few mm to spare.

I'm currently running the 538 in the tank now with the VCA Random flow nozzles and the drop tubes and I'm getting a lot of flow on the 1.8 setting -- 491 GPH. Note that as a result of this higher flow rate, I needed to put in about 3/4 gallon more salt water -- I see this as a benefit as it brings the level in my display up a bit too.

I've attached images to show how tight of a fit this is. The only other thing to note is that this pump is noisier than the 326 stock pump, but that should be expected. As I have the IM desktop skimmer on my tank, that remains the loudest thing in the tank though so I don't mind a louder pump, plus mine could still be breaking in.

Thanks for all of your help and input, I’ve decided to try the hydor Seltz DC controllable 500 unit, my concern as some of you stated was the fit and the noise from the maxi jet 535 , the 325 I currently have is unbelievably quiet as is the IM desktop skimmer but again not enough flow , I have 2 wave makers and right now and having a screen top it’s a pain, so if I can at least get rid of one that would be great. I will post my results once I get the new pump, again thanks to all of you for input !!!

I am running a pair of the Tunze 1073.008 in my 25 Lagoon, I love the flow and the redundancy of the dual pumps. Plenty of room for both pumps and eliminating the stock Y piping affords me more room to move things around back there. I want to do dual Sicce 1.5's and VCA RFG's soon.

Sorry I am late to the thread. I use two eheim 600 compacts and love them. Dead silent and decent flow. I supplement the tank with a koralia for directed flow across a couple monti's and pocillopora. Hope it works out for you!

This may seem like a silly question, but youd be surprised... Have you cleaned it yet? How often?
