IM 25 lagoon tank build.

My wife has a Marineland 60 cube that she’s been over with for awhile. Just awkward to keep flow correct and keep the tank healthy. So we decided to downsize to a Innovative Marine 25 Lagoon and with with simpler stocking.

Equipment list:

25 gallon Lagoon tank
2 1.0 sicce syncra return pumps
AI Hydra 26
Tunze 9001 skimmer
IM spin stream return nozzles
Baby changing table for stand (ended up being a pretty decent stand for $50 haha).

Hoping with the 2 1.0 sicce return pumps and the spin streams, that will create enough flow in the tank. If not will be adding some some controllable skimz powerheads.

The plan is to keep this tank super simple, but packed with color. The stocking will be rock nems, bubble tips, rics, couple different types of zoas, and a few LPS. For fish she is keeping her clowns and goby pistol pair.

Waiting for the rock to become full of life in my 470 gallon system. Then will set up the 25.

I liked my IM 25Lagoon but not the original pump. I switched out with MJ1200 and flow was amazing.

The Tunze9001 did an awesome job and I know you'll love it.

Were you able to run the tank with just the returns or did you add powerheads?

I’m trying to create a simplistic display with as Little equipment as possible.

It had the split with the two return green vinyl tubing. Mine was a simple down and dirty change of the length of tubing to connect to the MJ1200 for better flow.

But yes, I did run an MP10 in mine.

Thanks for the info. I have some Mp10s laying around that I thought about putting on the system. If it gets to that point I’ll add a powerhead, but trying to make the tank enjoyable from all 3 sides.

Yes, I didn't have to run the MP10 at more than 20 or 30% and the BTA's loved it.
