IM 40G ATO chamber?

Ive had the IM 40G for about 5 months now, great tank but I have a question. How high do you people keep the water in the ATO chamber(middle one). Ive always had it about 3/4 inches down from the side chambers but I think thats causing micro bubbles..

I recently moved it up to about half an inch maybe less from the top.. WOndering if this will help my micro bubble situation

In my IM30L, I had my ATO float in the middle chamber.

I kept my water level about 2” below the side baffles

Mine stays about 3/4 inch below the side baffles.
