I could use some help with designing enclosures and contraptions for different reef-pi builds.

Im in lets give it a try.
Sweet, here you go :-)
https://learn.adafruit.com/reef-pi-power-controller
this is a simple reef-pi based power controller. It lets one control upto 8 electrical outlet using a raspberry pi and few simple electronics component. Right now, we use various approaches to build an enclosure for this. In the guide above I am using an uxcell enclosure. Other have used wooden boxes etc. It will be awesome to have 3d printable design for this. It will be significant cheaper, sleeker and reduce number of components required. From a design perspective, all it needs is an enclosure with built in standoffs to mount a raspberry pi and an lm2596 board, and holes to mount a 2.1mm barrel jack, and db9 connector. It will be very useful if the enclosure keeps the Raspberry Pi's USB/HDMI/micro USB connectors exposed.
I can provide any and all details you need. But if done, this will be tremendously helpful for the entire reef-pi community.
Theres a nascent 3d printing community for reef-pi in thingiverse, https://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=reef-pi
