If he has what I have (and I think he does) peroxide in that manner won't work. I did a 10 minute dip in 12% H2O2 and it died way back but it didn't kill the roots so it came back. Turning off flow and injecting it with 12% H2O2 didn't even get a color change. A 1 hour soak in 50% vinegar didn't bother it much at all but 100% vinegar for an hour did kill it completely on a powerhead.
I've have 5 tangs, a Foxface, and a starry blenny and none touch it. Hermit crabs seem too, but they can't eat enough to make a difference. I've also tried long spine and short spine urchins, several types of snails and conchs, and even tried fuzzy chitons with no luck.

My next attempt is a good size algae turf scrubber from Turbo Aquatics to see if that might work to out compete it because my chaeto with a Kessil H380 isn't doing it.

How long after peroxide bath before regrowth? I have 35% peroxide concentrate. In one case with red wire algae from Hell, I had to treat a third time. I removed rock and painted the offending area and let it sit for an hour.. It removed coralline algae as well. Red wire algae did not come back.

Many species of short creeping red algae exist so the hobby generally lumps all of them under the heading "Gelidium", (the genus that is home to many of those species), and the common name Red Turf Algae, or Red Wiry Algae.

Manual Removal - Difficult. Macros that have fragile runners and creep along the rock are the hardest to manually remove. Do the best you can. Use a dental pick to remove it if possible. Fragments of the algae can spread though, so make sure to net any pieces that break loose. Yeah I know, it is boring as can be, but if you do it once surgically with a dental pick the problem goes away for good. If you can take the rock out, all the better.

Tip - Don't pass on frags with this stuff to other hobbyists, don't put one in your tank. This algae has become extremely common on traded/aquacultured frags. So my advice is every time you add a coral or a rock look for it from now on. It is easier to keep out of the tank then deal with it once inside.

They probably read 0.

If you have GHA like this, it will soak up all available nutrients.

They dont read absolute zero. Phosphates range from .02 to .04 on my hanna checker. They read .08 until I started running rowaphos to lower them and try to choke out the algae. So far it looks like it stopped spreading but it could be my imagination.
