How's it going guys? First to introduce myself. My name is Dan. I'm originally from Nebraska but I'm stationed in England for the air force :) I have a confession to make. I'm a reefer. I would reef all day if I could. I've done freshwater for the longest time and I figured I was gonna try saltwater. All it took was one time and I was hooked...my wife gets on me all the time for reefing. I can't stop buying coral or live rock.... Anyone else have this problem? Haha I recently sold my sports car that I've wanted for a long time so I can put all my hobby money into my tank lol. My wife doesn't like how much time I like to spend on my tank on my days off but hey at least I don't go drink and visit strip clubs and I'm faithful! Any who right now my tank is a 40 long which I'm upgrading to a 65 gallon cube :) I'm planning on buying a new light and I'm stuck between a kessil or AI's line of lights. Ok now I'm blabbing on... You guys have stories like this?

Im Eddie and ive been an addict for >25 years.

Had to take a break when the kids where young (~8 years) but took care of the withdrawal symptoms by buying a boat and taking the kids snorkeling throughout S. Fl and Florida Keys.

Now that they are out to college been back for 8 years with an addiction to SPS.

BTW- Thanks for serving. You guys are my hero's

I am chris, and I'm a reef addict... Been at it for almost 6 years and its still all I think about.. Trips home at lunch just to check out tank and surfing forums on my cell while at work..

Welcome to R2R!

I'm Mike, my addiction started 15 years ago with a 55 FOWLR. I tore the tank down when we moved 10 years ago and I thought I had kicked the habit. I made the mistake of going into a LFS a little over two years ago. Needless to say one thing led to another and I'm happily back in the hobby.

Hello My name is Jordan and I am an addict.

I have been reefing for over 4 years but I have had tanks for over 11 years. I find that if I have any sort of money saved up then that means I need to spend it on coral. It is really hard to save up for pretty much anything besides reef related things and it is a serious problem that I am not ready to accept.

Haha your guys' stories crack me up! I have spent almost 1.5k on my tank! I hate calculating how much I put into it lol. The British pound is worth so much more than the us dollar. It sucks having to spend so much but it's just another hobbies and hobbies cost money! I have too many expensive hobbies....lol

To Dannyboy - just be careful you value her first; otherwise it's still a form of infidelity.

If I ever get married again, I'll be sure to find someone as into it as me XD

My name is Lisa, and I am also a reef addict. XD All my cash that doesn't go to necessities, with few exceptions, goes to my tanks...as does most of my time. I'm disabled so that's a lot of time and not a whole lot of cash - I can't tell you how often I've decided to eat ramen so I can feed the fish and corals the good stuff! XD

I have a 29g fowlr tank that basically belongs to my mom, with me doing the husbandry, a 10g FW to breed the snails for Mom's puffer - it also has a betta in it, my 50g reef (soon to be 100g and properly drilled - I can hardly wait!!), and a 125 FW in the bedroom that's kind of experiencing a benign neglect since I got my reef. I may not keep it because I want my babies well-cared-for whether they're fresh or salt.

The way i see it is..The sports car actually loses value in time and the reef tank can actually turn into in investment if you maintain the growth of corals and sell frags as a side hustle ;)
