I'm allergic to zoas!!!!!

It's weird because its been like that for the last 6 month I never had this problem and i never wore gloves or eye protection. Actually it started happening happening when i started wearing gloves and eye protection lol

Did you start working with any new ones during this six months? Different strains have different levels of toxin and different "aggression" levels. I have some that I can frag and they don't even seem to notice and others that I just bump and they are a ball of toxic slime.

I think some people are more sensitive than others to the palytoxin. I was fragging one day (without gloves) and fragged some asterina pink. The next thing I know there's a dark purple goo dripping from these zoas, getting all over my hands. That's when I noticed the little cut on my thumb. I was thinking "great, I'm going to be sick"... Luckily nothing ever happened. I have also watched someone else take a zoa squirt directly to the eye with no issues. I do think some of them produce more toxin than others too. About 2 weeks ago I fragged a bunch of aog in the tank and I wasn't too careful about it. Two out three times I saw them spray stuff all over in the tank. Seems like it irritated several different corals I'm the tank and my clownfish is covered I'm stings. Still I experienced no bad effects.
