Today I was at the pet shop to get some food for my fish and to get some other supplies. I saw that they had a sale on their fish and inverts so I just looked into the tanks thinking "I'm just going to look. I'm not going to buy anything..." there it was a sebae anemone for only $20. Should have I got it? Probably not... did I get it? Sure did!
Anyhoo I don't think it's a very healthy specimen and it may not even be a sebae...
Could anyone tell me if it's healthy and maybe identify it if it's not a sebae?
THANKS!

Looks like a LPS. Does it have one mouth or several? Does it have a skeleton?

One mouth no skeleton
And one foot on the bottom

Looks cool

If we all made rational decisions, no one would have a reef tank in their house.

Enjoy your new, whatever it is creature

Yeh this whole hobby is a bit crazy! Lol
And I sure will enjoy it thanks!

Most likely some variety of carpet.. from what I can see in the pictures, it's doing well for having been just recently added to the tank... good luck!

Really? A carpet anemone is super expensive isn't it? I got this one for $20...

I'm going to say not a sebae ... and I've never seen a carpet with ribbed tentacles like those, either. Wonder if anyone else on the #reefsquad has ever seen one like it?

Cool pickup, so long as it's not a threat to other residents!

They can be, it all depends on the rarity of the species.. I was under the impression that your LFS had marked it as a sebae anemone.. that's most likely the reason why it was marked that price

Yes it was marked as a sebae, but I was asking for a id because it does not look like any sebaes that I've seen.

^ very well could be what Long Island Andy said... I did a bit of digging and found similar looking sebaes (although it does give off that carpet vibe)
