I'm confused. PPT vs. Conductivity (mS/cm)

Some conductivity probes never drift, especially those not left in the water 24/7 (I do not leave it in). My Orion model 128 read 30.8 mS/cm in a 30 mS/cm standard for more than 10 years (it can't be adjusted, just manually corrected).

In terms of checking calibration of a conductivity probe, I'd check it at least monthly and if it hasn't drifted, go longer and longer between calibration until you find it has drifted by an amount important to you. I'd also recalibrate it any time it seems to be suggesting something is amiss with the salinity that requires a change.
