I'm using this same one. You can pan and tilt (rotate) remotely, and digital zoom.

I tend to turn the brightness down on the camera setting all the way because the halides are too bright!

Uses MJPEG, so you can view from any web browser not using adobe flash or java... like my iPhone or any smartphone for that matter.

I have one setup. Its pretty easy. Good for when you are gone out of town. I moved mine to the side pane so you can see into the tank. Its pretty sweet.

Larry?s reef

Check out my site i have serveral different:
LegoZ's Reef Tank <-- Still snapshot
LegoZ's Reef Tank <-- Flash stream
LegoZ's Reef Tank <-- ASF windows media player stream with audio
LegoZ's Reef Tank <-- javascript version works on iphone

If I had the bandwidth I'd have it setup in hd 720.
The box is currently on my wireless network, I am hoping to get it hardlined in tonight, if everything works out then I may be able to pull that off.

Can anyone list what is needed other than a camera?

I dont have a internet hookup near my tank. Could I hook up a wireless router by my tank and feed the video to that and transmit it to my office to another wireless rounter where my internet access is? This is really cool, thanks guys!

is there a place for dummys to learn how to do it i like the idea i jast dont know how to do it

You need either an IP camera or a computer. For a computer you need software to have it available on the internet. I am using WebCamXP and the free version should work for you. I am using a dedicated computer for hosting the pages of the site and images for posting as well as controller and the video. So it is a bit busy.

The cpu utilization is quite high as a warning with this product so you may need a dedicated box, there are also sites that will rebroadcast the stream, and this is what I was doing for when I had my RK2 setup on the internet.

How is the zoom on this camera? I have two tanks and would like to use one camera to view both. They're on opposite sides of room, about 20 feet apart.

You'd need a bridge-able router and i have NO idea how do that. :)

I think they also have wiresless cams now, not sure the quality though...
