I was looking into this myself a couple days ago.

The proportions are slightly different: 11.8"x15.0" footprint for the Nano vs. 13.8"x14.2" for the Waterbox. Although these are pretty similar, my personal preference is the slightly wider view from the front that the Waterbox provides.

Prices seem to be pretty much the same +/- $10, depending on where you buy from.

I think I'd go Waterbox.

I'm curious if anyone else has something else notable to mention comparing these two.

i did notice that innovative marine does have alot of accessories specifly for its tanks not a whole bunch of off brand items

Having a WB 10 myself, I have noticed those with IM 10 are able to use a larger pump and the IM SpinStream. This is something is not doable with the WB due to the tubing. It may be factor in your decision if you're looking for more flow / random flow from a larger pump/spinstream within the tank outside of a wavemaker. Otherwise it's a non-issue.

I had a Nuvo 10g as my first nano. It was great but was underwhelmed by the flow from the stock pump

Ot more aftermarket support. Plus ive owned several im tanks ans all have been great.

Have had a IM nuvo 8 that i liked alot and a nuvo 40 that i really didnt like due to the horrible layout of the rear. having the overflow compartments not reaching all the way down makes the bottom of the return impossible to keep clean of detritus and a pain in the butt to replace or service return pump. dont know if the nuvo 10 has similar layout but for me that would be a dealbreaker.
Have bought a few of the IM accessories and never been impressed with the quality of any of them.

Now i have a Waterbox cube 20 and am super happy with it. glass is incredibly clear and silicone job is well done. sump layout is nice in the back.

For me it would be a Waterbox without hesitation.

I believe the Waterbox does not come with a lid, whereas the IM does. Depending on what route you end up going to cover the tank, this could make the cost difference substantial (e.g. a ClearView lid is $90).
