IM Fusion 25 Lagoon Nano Recomendations

I have a new Nano build going on a budget and have the Innovative Marine Fusion 25 lagoon. So far I'm really impressed with the tank but have run into a few problems. The IM pump included is just terrible. Makes more noise than a heard of elephants. What pump is everyone using to replace the 210 GPH? I am using the IM Spin Streams also and wanted to use these with a more powerful pump instead of using a wavemaker.

Also, what heater is everyone using in this small cramped space. I have never been a fan of the cobalt neo therm but that is what IM suggests.

Last question, I have a IM 7203 ghost skimmer and one of the IM reactors new in the box. Should I even bother to use these on a soft coral tank with weekly water changes? I was thinking maybe Carbon and GFO in a nylon bag? Thanks for any tips or suggestions,

Since the spin stream reduce a lot of flow and you don’t want a power he’s you want to aim for a pump between 400-600 gph.
The mighty jet pumps and DC jeobo pumps are good.

Ya I saw them and was hoping for a cheaper answer but I will need to pony up for a DC it seems. Are you running a skimmer or reactor?

Sicce 1.5 or 2.0. I had a 1.5 in my IM20 and it was silent.

Ghost skimmer is ok but you should be good with weekly changes if not two overloaded with fish.

I used Floss, Carbon and Purigen in each overflow caddie on mine. A little overkill perhaps but it was great.

I’ve tried 3 different $20-$30 pumps, either they were too loud or they were gals advisement and only pushed around 200ghp.
Not running a skimmer or reactor. Imo you really do need them in a nano

The sicce 1.5 is the best value IMO. Im using the mighty jet atm and like it though. If you are water changing with a softie tank then I would keep it super simple. Floss and Carbon, maybe Purigen even.

I've been using the spinstreams for over a year now. The do work and create some random flow, but they reduce the flow and are a maintenance pain. I always forget to clean them during my weekly maintenance and they get covered in corraline and start to seize up.

Welcome to the Nuvo squad. I have been hearing you do not need a skimmer with these size of tanks. I have a custom caddy on the left side and I am running filter floss up top, chemipure blue in the middle and then matrix at the bottom shelf.

Weekly water changes should do the job though.

I just got my tank up and running today and yes the stock pump sucks lol. Going to be my first upgrade once it cycles.
