My Tank Thread
My Aquarium Showcase
I have built most recently an IM fusion drop off tank and also my 93 cube.
This drop off tank was acquired in January and took me a bit of time to place together as there is no stank offered. I found one that made the most sense.
I got a cabinet that matched my computer desk and then planned accessories which consist of media basket, a better flow return pump, cobalt neotherm heater and fine marine sand. I also bought 6 nice pieces of " Real Reef Rock" to get those long pieces to create a down pattern
It was my plan to duplicate this tank so I bought the best light I could think of for this type of tank being the AI Prime HD.
I Filled it and let it run for about a weeks sneaking in Two pieces of live rock from my 360g and placing the real reef rock down-sloped. I also added Pohl's bacter start, Zeofood and bio-mate.
Fish were then added which consisted of a Yellow wrasse, Blue Damsel (who was my actual starter) and a long nosed hawkfish along with two Mexican Turbo snails, two astrea snails and a couple of serpant stars.
I then added a small frag of Hammer coral, three rock anemones, cyphastrea and a single head blasto. I have been watching behavior of coral and fish along with tank water test to determine when to add more specimens.
I will add one more fish ( Not yet determined ) and a few zoas and candy cane or similar as this tank has limited capacity.
Thus far, this tank is easy to maintain and add water and additives without removing the custom screen top added.
I recommend this tank to anyone considering a drop-off concept for ease of care and affordability . I also recommend to get the Glass version as I bought the acrylic version and am deadly afraid to clean the inside glass of algae to avoid scratching of surface.
