I have an IM Lagoon 25 as a frag tank and invert/coral QT. A couple months ago I bought an AI Prime HD to go over it and figured that would be enough to handle it for a coral QT. However, now that I just loaded up, maybe it's not. Should I get another AI Prime or try to sell it and get an AI Hydra 26 or XR15? The difference to me about the XR 15 and H26 is really whether my Reeflink will reach about 3 rooms away from the DT to the QT to control the XR15 too.

I would add a second prime hd. You be already got one and pairing them up to run together is a fairly simple task :)

I set up a similar tank a few weeks back and am starting to question my lighting. The tank is probably the same IM 25 gallon, 24" x 20". I installed a single XR15.

Unless the coral is directly under the light, won't the single point of the XR15 only hit one side of the coral? Say a frag is 12" off center it seems like it's only possible for the light to hit it from one side.

Does the shaded side of the coral benefit from light hitting it on the other side?

This may be an obvious question, but wouldn't I be better off with 2 XR15's or a single XR30? Or is a single XR15 enough?
