I'm NEW!

For the sake of the animals and for your sanity, you may be best served by getting a general idea of saltwater care before jumping into sea horses. Sea horses are a fairly specialized niche in an already somewhat specialized hobby. :) Do lots of reading and you very well may be fine, but when things go wrong and your ponies lives are at risk, its really helpful to have the experience to fall back on to save them.

Most of all, enjoy it! Whichever direction you choose. :)

not sure if any addressed this but a mandarin is a fish that requires a mature tank.their diet consists solely of live copepods.these will take a long time to show up in your tank. i would wait atleast six to 8 months before adding one. some pet stores try to tell you they have food for them but mine eats nothing i put in the tank he only grazes for live food. they are beatiful fish though mine is probably my favorite fish in my tank.
