IM Nuvo 25 aquaforest

Delay on corals. Postponing for another week. Gotta get this ph in check. Ammonia reading a .25 also. My frag and clowns are doing just fine. So sps pick up will be next thurs.

As a IM25 owner myself... you have a cleannnn looking set-up in and out. Good job.
Following along to see the progress!

Protein skimmer update. My cadlight skimmer in nice and broke in now. Picking out dark skimmate. Cant be happier.

Have any more FTS with the new members in the tank. Looks like a nice system, I don't understand the system you're running, but looks interesting with all you're dosing into the tank. Looking foward to seeing it progress.

Was the water/LR from your old system? Is that how you got it to cycle so quickly?

No established rock or water. Dead tonga branch rock and aquaforest probiotic salt.
Following the aquaforest cycling directions. Dosed "bio s" for 14 days then switched to "bio s pro, np pro, and pro bio f".
I did have a post cycle ammonia spike after the introduction on my clowns. AF recommends to dose more "bio s" after the introduction of new life but it was taking to long to drop. So i added some Dr. Tims bacteria witch brought it right down to zero in hours. "Bio s" is a dead culture of ammonia fighting bacteria where as Dr. Tims is live bacteria. My live stock has seen no ill effect since being introduced. Even the coral which when i bought the said was a montipora but i believe is a chalice is doing great.

Here are some more fts that you asked for.

Havent started to dose anything yet. But will be dosing components 1,2,3(cal,alk,mag) along with af energy, af build, af ammino mix, and af vitality. I will probably have to dilute the last 4 with RO due to the size of my tank in order to dose.
Will start dosing when i get my fist sps order and see a drop in alk/ cal.

I need to go and re-read this e tire thread. I have an IM 40 cube and this is inspiring me to over haul my tank to take better care of all my tiny investments.

Why did you chose this one over all the other options?
Its the biggest and baddest skimmer that could fit in the back after a few modifications. Complete over kill for tanks up to 50-75 gallon. Its a simple design. And i didnt want a hang on back. With that said it is not a easy skimmer to find. I needed a heavy duty skimmer for aquaforest to work properly and keep a unls system.

where did you get the IM lid and Cadlights skimmer? I cannot seem to find them sold anywhere online.

The lid is easy, you can get it on bulk reef supply. Its a diy project. Buy their corners, mesh, and frames. 30 mins and a flat head screw driver/hack saw combo and your set. The skimmer, well good luck. I found mine used on ebay in canada. They are hard to find. Cadlight is in the process of a new nano but not sure of its eta. But its a great skimmer if u can get one. Wish i had a better answer.

Ok nice! I'll have to check into that. I saw the DIY one but didn't know if you actually found one premade for this tank. My buddy and I have both been searching like weekly for those skimmers. They look so nice and I like that it fits into the back chambers without having to mess with the return.

I did have to mod it a bit. I cut the mounting bracket and made the return holes larger for more fine tuning. If u find one and have any questions just ask. Ill send u some pics of what i did. Its a work horse.

Ok good info! And thanks! Mine is running skimmerless as of now... just looking for the right one. I had an Eshopps nano on my last tank and that seemed to work pretty well.
