I'm hoping others out there have a similar setup and can provide any advice on a uv sterilizer and placement for it. Current in the two outer Chambers I have a media caddy and a skimmer.

Any advice or thoughts ?

Thanks in advance

I have the im40. I have a media reactor and a basket in my outer chambers with the skimmer in the 2nd. I just take out my basket when I use UV. Usually 72 hours max, then back to normal.

Do you use the drop in one ?

How often do you have to replace the bulb? Is there a bulb to replace?

To be honest, I'm not sure about the life of the bulb. I really haven't used mine much. It was kinda a last ditch effort to get crystal clear water. I only used it twice about a month apart and haven't touched it since.

I heard they are disposable design which has a shorter life than other options.

Typically you have a life of around a year maybe a little more until you start to lose intensity. This goes for at least most UV’s on the market. The only thing is not everybody uses them 24/7.
