IM Nuvo 75 INT

Filled the tank with RO water to test for leaks, plumbing looks good and everything working as intended, had some slight leaks at drain bulkheads but snugging up a bit more resolved that.

Did not realize the stand would have side access and pretty excited about it, both the side panels open.
I wish I had a side access door. Jealous right now.

Oh no- Guess it’s a very recent update, was definitely surprised, but happy about it

I like how your build is coming.

thanks a lot- very similar to yours ( which I also like a lot!). Nice to have you a few steps ahead of me, looking forward to see life in yours soon!

Well I have had the tank for a while. It just has taken me a while to get things done. I got the tank and stand last year December. But because I wanted to put the large sump I had to wait for the sump to arrive before I built the stand. Then finishing the plumbing was hard because I started another project and there was never enough time on the weekends. So I might be a head of you right now. But I’m sure you will be surpassing my progress soon.

I told you I’m not that far ahead of you and you would catch up soon. How are you going to cycle the tank?

Haha, I rushed a bit to get to this point , but now I’m okay to be patient for a while. I’m using Dr. Tim’s one and only and ammonium chloride

Tank made it on the stand- It’s a beautiful tank! Heavy sucker for two people, but not terrible. Also ended up installing a dedicated 20amp outlet next to the tank and threw an outdoor waterproof cover on it, why not.

Will likely have some sort of cabinet in front of it for electronics soon anyway, so I won’t have to look at it.
Wow that’s an amazing looking setup!

Thanks! I have a Nero 5 on the way, going to see how I like that and take it from there. If I like it I’ll get a second, if not likely 2 mp40s
I liked the Nero 5 as well, but I went with two mp40s. I was going to ask you where you thought the best place to position them was. I was told that they should be directly across from each other. We have to put them on the side panels, but should I put them in the direct middle or closer to the top and front?

I think positioning will depend on rock work and coral type/placement. Definitely something I’ll be moving around a bunch and playing with to find the right spot/power.
But likely will put across from each other on side panels closer to the top and a bit back of center. I’m used to the ecotech so not sure if having the wire in water will make me want to position differently for aesthetics

I think with the Nero you can place them on the back/overflow, that's if the magnet is waterproof.

I really like your build. It seems we are taking a very similar approach and started at about the same time. I'm excited to see how yours progresses given that I am also going to be taking a mixed reef approach, though very heavily focused on SPS. I'm big on gyre powerheads. I tried the Maxspect gyre pumps for my most recent tank and they simply wouldn't hold even though they were rated for being able to hold onto thicker than what I've got. I ended up sending them back and replacing with two red sea reefwave 25. I made a custom program to create a shifting area of turbulance based off the BRS conversation here (). I'm really happy with it. Given the negative space aqua scaping that I did there is so much flow. Its just enough that I get slight small hills in the sand that seem to shift throughout the day.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on your build in case I need to steal some of your ideas!

Thank you much ! I will certainly consider the reef waves down the line, Red Sea is still a contender for lighting as well..
taking my time in selecting everything I don’t need immediately, Incase I do change my mind.
I almost went with your tank, nice choice! Look forward to seeing your progress as well!
