IM Nuvo discussion thread.

I do! I have an aquamaxx one that I bought second hand. I believe its the one from Marine Depot. It keeps my tank crystal clear and eliminates the need for water changes bi weekly. Now I still do the water changes but if I didn't want to I wouldn't have to.

How often are you having to cut back the chaeto

Once every threeish months if I want it could go four or five but I do it when I clean all my pumps.

Nice. I might have to do that in the future if my second chamber fuge can’t keep up. I have the fusion 20 peninsula and filter space is limited.

Hoping to not have a skimmer since this will be in my office and I need it silent.

hello :)

Im shopping for a new skimmer for IM40.

Tunze DOC 9004 skimmer does not fit in any other chambers other than the ones where the in tank media basket goes in. Some reefers online put the 9004 in one of these media chamber and just use one intank media basket. im worried that im at disadvantage of removing debris and etc

Any recommendations?

I'm following along because I am in the same boat as you with the Tunze DOC 9004 skimmer. Mine is still brand new in the box waiting to see what my best options are. I really would like to have a skimmer in the 2nd chamber opposite side of my IM media reactor. Maybe sell the Tunze is I can find a decent skimmer that would fit that 2nd chamber.

Had that issue, the Eshopps Nano Skimmer is the best for it to me. I've had the Tunze, it gets super good reviews. But I think for the setup the Eshopps is better and skims way better.

Anyone here use a Neptune Apex on their nuvo?
I’m having a hard time fitting everything in and curious what your solutions are

But then all the water will spill out??
Yes. Directly into a sump where you can hide all your equipment and have decent filtration.

I say this as I just got rid if my IM 40 cude and replaced in with a 42g planer with an eshopps cude sump in the stand. I can grow SPS now. I haven't even set up my Apex yet

Iv'e found that super low nutrients Hurt the corals & I still have a bunch of algae .

I went ahead and ordered the Eshopps Nano skimmer. I just don't want to use the chamber with the overflow so this seems to be my best option. I still have the Tunze 9004 doc brand new in the box. I will probably ebay it or sell here. I may hit you up later if I need help getting it set right. Thanks for suggesting the Eshopps nano skimmer. I had looked at it originally along with the ghost skimmer but reviews were kind of all over the place.

It fits snug in that 2nd chamber and I just put it together, plug and play.
