I've had an IM Nuvo 20g tank now since April/May. I am using all the original hardware that came with the tank (pumps and all), except I've got an additional powerhead in the tank to assist in water flow.
One of the issues I'm noticing is that the water in the isolated area of the tank, where the return pump/filter socks is, is incredibly stagnant.
I am having a lot of algae issues lately, which I know is frequently a phosphate/nitrate issue, but I notice when I do water changes there's a ton of crud in the back chamber that gets kicked up and thrown around the tank. So there's definitely some buildup of detritus/food/etc. that's festering. And I feel as though the low flow is probably not utilizing the ROWAPHOS in my filter socks to its maximum, since water is not being circulated as regularly.
Aside from doing water changes that include siphoning the back, do any of you guys with IM Nuvo (or similarly structured tanks) have advice on keeping water flow in these tiny, secluded areas?
Thanks! [emoji4]
