So I bought a blue tang and powder blue. It had ich, maybe velvet. Cupramine, and a lot of cash later, they both died. Tomorrow I have a yellow and blue tang coming. This time I'm going to do TTM. I have the cupramine ready if needed. I will not have another death! Those two fish are the first fish I've had ever died in my car since starting the hobby two years ago.

I will be successful!

From.what I researched, as long as it's 24 hours dry, it's fine. I also bought two 10 gallons instead of 20 gallons. I also cleaned my 30g rimless to hold them after the 2 week ttm. Also have that 20g as a backup if they don't get along

You shouldnt hold your fish in a car. Aquarium works a lot better

In seriousness, hope you have more luck with TTM. Please post up how that goes, as I am interested in following it as well, once I get to add fish.

15yrs in the hobby. First 10yrs lost HUNDREDS of dollars of tangs to ICH.

5yrs ago talking with a LFS owner of 35yrs and he said to buy an AFRICAN Cleaner Wrasse

It has to be marketed and sold as an AFRICAN cleaner Wrasse.

In the last 5yrs havent lost a single fish to ICH once adding him

NAYSAYERs will say
1) this wrasses does nothing to clean ICH. (really? Why have I been ICH free for 5yrs with 4 tangs?)

2) this wrasse only eats dead fish skin (I'm convinced it eats parasites as well

3) this Wrasse will die in a month...(if it's not an African, yes it will die...but Africans eat reg fish food AND cleans tankmates).

I will definitely NOT have tangs in my tank without an African cleaner Wrasse.

Cleaner shrimp too hard to keep alive for more than several months.

My African cleaner Wrasse is 5yrs old and all my other fish SEEK HIM OUT for cleanings.

I do have a love letter tucked away for my family should something happen to me. This has the odd ball stuff like account names, user names, passwords, vault info, online game accounts, and of course marine reef tank information. Basic cost of it, fish, corals, and what to do with some items in case they get too big to manage (clams come to mind). This way everything is taken care of.

Oh - fish - no. I have my own process which seems to work for me. No TTM.

I hate the old saying that "there are different ways to do the same thing in this hobby." In most cases, while there are different ways, there is usually one or two ways that are clearly above the rest and the argument is stupid. Fish pests are one that baffles me.

I isolate until the fish are eating well, not skittish and well adjusted, then put them in the display... do not treat for any diseases. I have not had a spot on a fish for a decade, or more, and I keep them all. I just got to the point where I was not going to QT inverts, corals nor most of the wrasses or butterflies that I like, so I decided to just get the fish healthy since there was no way that I could guarantee that pathogens would not get into my tank.

However, I have seen this not work for some people, but good for others. ...so I have no idea what works in this arena, so I am glad that you found something that does work for you.
