I'm so mad at my Clown Fish!

Had the same issue. Decided to move the frogspawn over towards the rbta slowly and then moved the frogspawn away while feeding the tank. The clowns had no idea and went towards the rbta and haven't left! GL

I agree with Saltgator with moving the hosted toadstool (looks more like a mushroom to me?) away from the central part of the tank where the clowns hang out if you want to try and "facilitate" the hosting of the new anenome.

Give the clowns some time, if they find the anemone compatible they will host it. They won't always ditch their current home just to host a true anemone right away.

In the past I had purchased two true percula clowns to host a large green carpet anemone which they ignored for about 2 years in a 45 gal tall. It is to my belief that the clown finally began to host the carpet once most of the rock was removed and transferred to another tank...basically I think the clown began to hang out in the lower part of the tank and found that the carpet was compatible and began hosting it.

If your fish are tank bred they may also have a harder time "understanding" what to host...

Haha silly is the one who thinks he/she can influence the host choice of a domesticated clownfish ;)

I had the same problem, but mine liked a wellso brain. I took the wellso to the LFS and traded it for store credit and they almost instantly took to the BTA.

I'll give them some time. Maybe once the rbta gets bigger (and if they end up killing off the toadstool), they might move over. I taped a pic of some clowns in an rbta to the end of the tank. Maybe if they see someone else in one, they'll get the idea. XD

Stupid Clowns! HA! Love the video.

Now thats a funny video.. stupid clowns...... It seems that most eventually figure out that the nem is there and they end up in it. Just give it time

my percula clowns are the same way. They host frogspawn, duncans, mushrooms, star polyps you name it...im waiting for them to host my power head

Stupid clowns indeed!!!!!
The funniest home video ever:-)
Maybe you should move the toadstool closer to the RBTA, so that they will start to hang out near the RBTA and that way they will eventually realize the RBTA is a better home for them. GL.

Dont feel too bad. I've had my Picasso clowns for a little over a year and they only host the side of my plastic overflow:). I was so determined to get them to host something new I bought a 350 dollar blue haddoni for them. It's been in my tank for about 4-5 months now and they don't even look at it. At least your clowns host something living. Hahaha. Last Saturday I almost bought a pair of platinums and was gonna trade them in. I felt bad and couldn't pull the trigger. I guess there ridiculousness is rubbing off on me and I'm getting attached:) Here's a pic
