IM sr60 skimmer?

Changing out my skimmer and looking at Tunze 9004 but would like 9012. It says it would technically but a super tight fit. Anyone?

tunze 9012s are great, I have 7 of them all in use, but what was your question exactly?

Thanks! It was a fit question. The space I have is 4.6 x 5.9. Tunze 9012 is 4.3 x 5.5. So 'technically' it does but reality is another. I know the 9004 will definitely fit but think I want more skimmer.

Hey, what did you end up going with? I am about to pull the trigger on an SR 60 and I wanted to be sure I could fit a nice skimmer in it. Thanks!

Hey there! I actually just stuck with the same skimmer I've been using which is the mode aquariums pls-50. Love the tank though! Few things I'd say about this tank: Don't use the In-Tank media baskets. They worked GREAT on my IM40 but the stock media baskets work better on this tank...you just have to order an additional one because it only comes with one and a filter sock which I wouldn't use. The stock pumps are very good as well. I've got mine on a very low setting. Any other info you need just let me know!

You're the best, thank you so much. Funny is I almost bought the IM40L, but realized you couldn't fit any good skimmers in it, so I went to the SR 60 instead.

I am thinking of trying either the 9004 or 9012. I will check out the PLS-50 though as well. How well does it work for you and what is your bio load? I'm ideally trying to get the most efficient/largest skimmer I can fit in this thing to help with reducing water changes.

It looks like the PLS-50 is made for 50 gallons?

The 60 really is a great tank! My bio load is pretty light actually. 2 clowns, tailspot blenny and a flamehawk...they all just get along too good to mess it up. Tank is all Euphyllia as well. The PLS50 does just fine for what I have but not gonna lie, I keep wanting to order the 9012 but then just forget about it lol. Of course the 9004 would 'work' but if I'm gonna upgrade I'm gonna upgrade.

Oh...the VCA random flow generators are AWESOME! Don't mess with IM's spin stream. They work ok and all but VCA is a superior product. To put the flow of the stock pumps in perspective they go up to 1.9, 1.1 being the lowest. I run mine at 1.2. I have 2 Nero 3's as well. Plenty of flow.
