I have a yellow watchman goodie and he has always hung out in his cave since placing him in the DT around 3 months ago. Just yesterday he has decided to swim to the other side of the tank and stay swimming around the top of the tank. I'm not sure what he is doing. He looks fine and isn't showing any signs of distress. What should I do, leave him alone or should I remove him and place him in a QT tank. The problem is if I place him in QT I don't know what to treat for.

dont panic. watch and wait. weird little dudes. make sure filters and overflows are screened. he might be looking for new territory.

Here is a pic

again they are weird little dudes. I asked because the pics it seems like he has a bit of a pinched belly. hard to say though.

He definitely is acting weird, I just tried feeding him and he isn't acting interested at all. Usually when I activate the feed mode he hears the gurgle and pops out of his cave. He isn't acting like he wants to eat. Again he has been healthy and happy and isn't showing any physical signs right now. Thanks for the advice

He does look a bit on the skinny side. Ever see white stringy feces come out of him?

I've never seen anything hanging out of him. I did a TTM and Parzi combo with him in the beginning.

Prazi should have taken care of any intestinal worms (white stringy poop), but sometimes you have to use metronidazole to knock it out. The skinniness and now refusing to eat is concerning.

we should probably ask what other fish are in there and what are you feeding.
Ive had a penchant for picky eaters since i started.

Did you add any recent fish or inverts? If so, they may have intimidated it. I've had a couple do this. Keep every corner and crack covered.

I may have figured it out. There was a blue tuxedo urchin that was dead at the back entrance to his cave. I removed the urchin and he went back to his cave almost immediately. Could just be a coincidence but we will see. 90% of the time I feed mysis shrimp and I think the blue tuxedo urchin may have starved which sucks. I figured there was plenty of algae since the tank is only 3 months old but maybe I should have been supplementing nori?

Just tested all the tank perimeters and they are Ca - 440, Alk - 8.4, Mg - 1400, pH - 8.2, Nitrates and Phosphates are at 0 via Hanna and Red Sea.

whew. bet thats it.
Id offer up you should consider a broader range of foods. just better nutritionally over all.
using shelled animals does raise you po to in the long run.
