If you had to rebuy your IM setup , would you buy the APS stand again?

Ive read a few build threads who weren't happy with the foam bottom area where the sump sits on top.

30l owner here. Overall I think the stand is a good match for the tank. The non-metal plastic panel bits scratch easy which sucks, and it does not have a leveling solution which seems absurd given the importance of leveling. I put the included self down low, the foam insert is a joke. Bought a second shelf which was cheap so I had the extra storage. The structural integrity is top notch zero worries there. Frankly should outlast the tank.

i have the 75 ext and aps stand to match. I absolutely hate the stand. no where to mount any power bricks or controllers.

I have a 100 EXT I’m currently putting together. My original intent was to build a filler behind the tank that fills the gap behind the tank that the overflow creates. The electronics were mounting to that originally. Since then I’ve incorporated a cabinet that sits next to the display (in the corner of the room) and that will now store the electronics and my ATO container.

So you do have the APS stand or did you use your RocketEngineer tank stand plans? :)

:) I went with theirs. Mainly because I just moved but also because I no longer have access to the workshop I used last time (Long story). The black fits the style of the new house better as well. I’ll posts build thread once it gets going.

I'll keep an eye out for that build thread! Also, are the doors on the APS stand metal or wood? I don't have a LFS here that has it in stock to check it out in person unfortunately. Overall are you happy with the stand? Any issues with the foam bottom they provided for the bottom of the stand where the sump sits?

What did you end up doing about your controllers and power brick?
I have the same setup, I cut plywood inserts and used epoxy to mount them. I can send a pic if you'd like. I'm still putting it all together. I literally just finished this part this week

Cool, a pic would be great, thanks! Also, are the doors on the stand metal or wood? It's a burning question from my wife, haha.

I have a IM40 fusion all in one and i think those stands really are made for just the aio tanks in mind. Just enough room for a ato reservoir and dosing equipent/jugs.
I couldnt sleep at night trying to put a sump bigger than a 10 gallon tank down there on the foam. Granted im sure you can reinforce it to have sufficent coverage but at that point you could have built a stand out of 2x4s and been better off.

The doors are metal with plastic (acrylic?) inserts.

Yes.

I have a 25 Lagoon with the ABS stand and really like it. Solid as a rock. Agree with the bottom. There needs to be and additional brace so you can have two all the way to the sides and the third one in the middle. With that you could use a shelf piece as a bottom or cut a piece of marine plywood for the bottom. The shelf works great for me. I have my electrical there....transformers for lights, power strip, ATO controller/pump, glass cleaner, etc. I have my ATO reservoir sitting on the floor between the braces.

Here are some pics, i also added under cabinet lights. Let me know what you think.
