Im thinking of getting a Puffer?

Hey! I was thinking of getting puffer on live aquaria because I have no Fish Stores in my area and a friend that is also into fish told me you cant use nets, so I was wondering how to get the Pufferfish to the Aquarium without getting the bag water into my tank? Thanks A Ton!

Get a plastic cup and cut holes so the water flows out

I Heard somewhere that leaving them in the open oxygen is bad for them, is that not true then? I honestly am not sure.
