If you wouldn't mind, I'd love some comments on this rockscape. It's not glued yet. It's an IM Nuvo 20.... it'll be a mixed tank now, and later a frag/coral quarantine tank. All suggestions welcome!

I like the overall shape a lot. :)
If I had to make one change I would remove one of the rocks.

just my 2¢

I would suguest putting it in the aquarium.
Its a bit hard to cover the rock with saltwater the way it is right now.

Sorry just had too LoL.
I think it looks great.
I take it the cardboard is properly dimensional so you have plenty of clearance for glass cleaning all the way round.
It also looks great for flow purposes so its a win win.
Flow being the most important thing.

You mean it won't hold water?! LOL

Yes... the cardboard is cut to size.

Is the left side glued to hold? Notice a bottle supporting the left edge? I also agree with wvreefer. The left side looks like 3 blocks.

Maybe break one rock up and make a ledge attached to the larger rock.

Here’s something I was messing around with yesterday.

Correct.... nothing is glued yet, and the bottle of accelerator is holding up an unbalanced rock on the back/left of the right structure. I'll play around with the left structure and repost.

You don’t see it much. But I used polymorph plastic to bind the rock together. It was the first attempt and has a strong hold. Will for sure use it in future builds!

That's the purple/white beads you heat up in hot water? I heard good things about it from my LFS, bought some, tried it, thought it was awesome.... and then when I touched the structure it all fell apart. It didn't stick AT ALL. Clearly I did something wrong. I switched to super glue gel and had much success, except I didn't have any accelerant, which I'm excited to try this time. (This was all on another tank I set up last month... dang QUARANTINE!!)

YMMV
super glue is just ok. It too will break apart way to easily, as you will see soon.
I think our dry/live rock is to porous and absorbs even the thicker gels, leaving the glue bridges thin and week.

I highly recommend getting some Epoxy Putty.
Kneed it together and pack it in and around the joints.
Yes looks bad but it will hold things PERMANENTLY in place.
Once Coraline grows its gone.

Yea. The plastics need to sit in the water for at least 2 minutes before trying to mold them. They also handed up pretty quick so you need to move fast. I mixed some red and blue pellets to make the purple. It’s pretty cool.

Found out the trick was to use enough and mold it into a ball then spread to each side. Then tried to add small rocks to cover up the purple much as a possible. Missed a few spots. Haha

Well now that you have changed everything.

I have a thought. Hand on hip, index finger on side of mouth tapping with one raised eyebrow.

Just move it all to the right 3 thousandths of an inch. Take another full set of picks and videos and lets see....

Sorry but I liked your first design much better.

I would use the left over rock and join the two peaks on the left side of rocks, creating a hole through the middle.
The right side is good.
But alas its your tank.

Aquamend works great if u can get some. Jason fox uses it for his frag plugs, but it will hold some serious structures together. I trust it enough for my 150g tank with barebottom. One drop and there goes everything.

I like that one and the first, but get the large rock on top looking out of place. I think this design will be great for fish and flow. Just make sure the left side (looking at it) has the inches needed to get a scraper down the side!
