this is my second nano. The first one I did was claimed by my wife, yet I still do the maintanance. Long story short my friend gave me the Red Sea Max 130d. I decided I wanted to go with dry rock and sand, so I got 40 lbs of rock and 40lbs of sand. I played Legos for a while trying to get the aquascape just right, but even in the end I had to actually start epoxy-ing before I finally came up with what I have now. I put water in on May 28th, 2014. I purchased One and Only on June 1st and put half the small bottle in the tank. I have only filter floss right now and will be starting purigen and Chemipure elite this weekend. I am still waiting on a skimmer. I want to setup an Apex or Reef Angel to control both the Red Sea Max and the Biocube 29. I am thinking about using autotopoff.com for the ATO. I want to put a Kessil A360w over the top with a gooseneck combined with the inTank rear cover. As for corals I am going to use aquacultured SPS from a R2R vendor. For the CUC I will be using ipsf.com to compliment the Pacific theme I want for my tank. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for some beautiful blennies, and maybe gobies, for this tank. Here is what I have so far:

Sorry for the crap pictures I'll post different ones tomorrow.

Looks like you are off to a good start!

Well I decided on the ATO that I am going to use. It's a reef angel plus. I found it on eBay for $150 + 9.50 shipping. I figured it is this or I buy 2 from ATO.com and then an apex blah blah blah... And too much money later I have the same thing but with much better GUI and web app. So for now I'll try out the Reef Angel.

I have been leaving the lights off on the tank while it's been cycling. But I put a hermit crab in there and it's still alive, but I don't think that really means anything. I feed the tank once in a while. I haven't started purigen or Chemipure yet. I also still do not have a skimmer.

Looks good so far!! :)

The Indo-Pacific theme starts with the CUC coming from... You guessed it. IPSF in Hawaii. They will be here tomorrow morning. Time to go do some water changes

I love your scape. that one rock looks like it's suspended in the water being on its tip like that

THANKS! I took like 2 weeks to decide on the design. It was painful for my wife to watch. Epoxy is amazing... I like that the lines throw your eyes around the tank.

What do you think as far as corals to use? I'm thinking encrusting Monti a few acro an acan maybe a couple zoas/palys and some lps

Well I put in a few fish. I have a Tail Spot Blenny, Hi Fin Goby, an Anthias, and 3 Blue/green Chromis. The lfs told me I could put 3-5 of the Anthias in my tank including all the other fish in my tank. I am pretty sure when the Anthias gets big I am going to have to trade/sell it. The TSB is eating almost anything I put in the tank including Hatchery Diet Pellets. The Hi Fin and (what I believe is) Pseudanthias tuka are in hiding still. But I did see the hi fin go for some live brine shrimp.

The coralline seems to be taking off. There are bright purple, pink, blue, and green showing up. Hopefully all the colors will survive and be visible.

This is a better representation of the actual colors.

Well everyone seems to have adjusted well to their new habitat. The hi-fin still hides mostly.

I have corals coming Thursday, I am excited!!!

The corals did not get shipped. and unfortunately the next day off i am going to be able to receive them is going to be next week some time! I am dying to get some corals in this tank.

The anthias i knew would be difficult to keep and not a long term inhabitant (planned to trade for credit) but I do not know if she is eating well. I am going to take the long drive to an Asian market to find something she will eat. The hi-fin is not so shy any longer, but still stays in a hidey hole most the time. only really coming out to eat. The two chromis that are closest in size were caught comparing mouth sizes today.

The coraline seems to be growing well. I guess my frags will be well healed by the time i get them...

It is one of my favorites to watch. Although I can't lie, I love watching the law mower Blenny in my wife's tank.

The Anthias is eating baby brine shrimp and seems to be happy! The Hi-Fin Goby comes out and moves about the tank mostly just during feeding time.

I think the Chromis are bullying the Anthias, anyone think that is likely?

Well I've been talking with Mike of Sexy Corals and my corals will be shipped today and I will be putting them on the frag racks tomorrow AM. Just under the deadline!
