I've been running lime leds and every combination of reds out there for the last year on an SPS dominant tank. With cool whites. Hours of changing different diodes just to see what all the fuss is about with full spectrum. So I tried everything. A couple weeks ago I gave up and went back to best bins of cool whites, rb, cool blue and UV. I left some pc amber for now just to add any warmth but haven't used them. Since changing back my nagging cyano and algae issues have went away. I've never had so much dang trouble with the two in my 20 years keeping tanks. This leads me to really believe the lime had a lot to do with the cyano. I know the reds weren't helping anything with the hair algae. Nothing else was changed. So no more of those for me. The tank looks SO much cleaner and crisp now. Just wanted to share my experiences with the two.
