Immediate white spots on tangs!

So I️ just put in a dose of chemiclean and forgot to unplug my skimmer and of course I️t overflowed which put all of the gunk that was in there into the tank. About 10 min later I️ my sailfin tang has tons of white spots all over him and his fins look terrible. It’s also happening to my yellow tang and pearly jawfish! Please help. I️ have tons of corals and don’t know what to do. I️ put prime and stress coat in the tank but that’s all I’ve done so far

Any chance you can catch them to move them to a QT tank? Either way can we get some pics of these white spots to maybe get more eyes on what's going on in there.

So I️ called my buddy who was at my house earlier and he said he saw the tang had the white spots all over I️t before. I️ have no clue how I️ didn’t notice I️t so I’m guessing that it’s ich. But I️t progressed so fast so could I️t possibly be? And if so then how could I️ get rid of I️t?

Assuming you can't catch the fish for treatment and, can't treat the whole tank, the best you can do is a UV sterilizer for the tank and pray that does the job. I wouldn't have Tangs without one, they are very ich prone.

However, it would be best to post photos so we can be sure it's not just debris or something.

I️t is velvet! For sure. What do I️ do? Will this kill my clownfish or any of my corals? And what do I️ do with the fish that have I️t?

Corals/inverts are fine; however all your fish are in peril.

Okay so if I️ remove all of the fish or if they die ( I️ have no QT sadly) what would be the treatment from then on out? When would my tank be safe for more fish?

Fallow period - 6 weeks if you are certain it is velvet. However, if you suspect ich or any other disease(s) may be lingering in your display tank, then it is best to go fallow for 76 days.

Any fellow reefer friend or maybe even fish store that can help you out with QT?

Try Marine Melafix, that will help alot to restore the damage on fins and open wounds. Reef friendly, just make sure to remove any carbon media when using it
