IMPATIENT ALERT - development of chalice eye

I bought a frag of ECC's hybrid watermelon chalice about a month ago and am curious what a new eye looks like on a chalice. I know they are different colors than the base but dont know where they start forming or anything, rim usually, middle? I just cant wait for another eye to pop up and just want to know what i should be looking for?

They normaly start as white and look like they come from under the skin. Then slowly you see it peep out of that what's skin till it opens up then the eyes grow from there it can take up to a year for a eye to fully mature in some cases but most the time it takes a week for it to fully come in.

It is well known that if you look at a chalice frag too much, it slows down the growth and new eye formation new eyes can form anywhere on the body, sometimes near the rim too. you will see the eye pigments appearing first, just dont stare too much!

My chalices actually grow pretty fast. sometimes I see them growing right before my eyes. Wait, maybe that's the macro algae I'm talking about. :sad:

with my wm's and alien eyes...new eyes always form on the rim.but for rnegret's bubble gum, miami hurricane(all chalices with longs sweepers) all new eyes grow with in the rim..

My AE's form eyes in the body. One small spot turns a lighter color, pale looking and slowly forms an Eye

i think one is coming in, its lighter in color..... the watched pot never boils seems appropriate for chalice growth.

Thats what my Oregon mummy eye does. It gets a lighter color that you can tell is a circle

yea it turn lighter and the the skin starts to come together and the poof one day when u wake up theres a poppppp and it there!! ITs a great feeling.. =)
