Began making fresh RODI water last night at about 7:30PM. Remembered that I am making fresh RODI water just now, at 8:30AM.

All I can say is…THANK YOU reefing community for your intermittent reminders to place a float-shut off valve on your collection vessel!

To all those installing a new RODI system, do yourself a favor and pay the $15 for a shut off valve!!!!!!!

Remember in addition to the float valve you will want to get a automatic shut off valve and flow check valve.

Definitely a valuable lesson and reminder. I use one of these but still only make RODI during the day and set an alarm to check the bin every hour or two.

Yeah…. You’d think after overflowing my ATO transfer bucket I’d have learned. I set a timer for 2 hrs and go check. Or forget and then waste a roll of paper towels hiding the water mess from my wife.

Float valve and auto shut off have saved me multiple times also.
Guess I better go look up what a "flow check valve" is.
Old video but still relevant. Check valve is at 1:09 in the video, they can be picked up from Amazon for cheap.
