So I know you shouldn't just impulse buy. Was out of town and stopped by a really old looking fish store. The owner had no idea what they were as they got them in on trade. Any ideas? They both have tentacles that come out at night! Don't bash me to hard. Thanks!

Hard to tell from single polyps/smaller frags like this, I'm going to say the first is Micromussa lordhowensis (it's not inflated all the way so it could be several things) formerly Acanthastrea lordhowensis and are usually still called "Acans", the second one appears to be a Favia species. Not sure on exact species.

Thanks guys I should of known better than to impulse but me and the wife are like little kids in a candy store

I think all of us are. At least we won't gain weight buying coral. Unless you include the stress, sitting and watching them grow a weight gainer. :)

Yea seen that gsp after a day in the tank:mad:. I have a small gsp island so im going to have to remove that if I can. I don't want gsp on my main rock

We've all been there. Just another thing to add is both of those species (along with any coral) will benefit from some feeding. When those tentacles are extended at night will be the best time. Anything from brine shrimp size and smaller will work well.

I feed mysis
shrimp as it is so that's not a worry
