So, I have been having a conundrum on trying to decide what to do with a few aquariums i have.
In my bedroom i have my 135g 6ft tabk. My 60 hegaxon. A 27g hexagon and a 20 long qt tank. The 27g is the only tank thats fresh water in the room.
I kinda want to get rid of the tank. Drain it. Put it in storage or something, i have too much room being taken and silicone is degrading and leaving little floating microscopic silicone peices on the surface. Its annoying to see that.
The 60g hex is full of water abd sand. But has no rock. And just 3 damsels in it as i banished them from the 135g to it. Originally the 60g hex was my reef tank till i upgraded it to the 135g which was fresh. The 20g qt tank is also empty. And has been for 8 months just has water in it.
Ive been wanting to put the damsels in the the 20 and convert ny 60g to fresh and just get like 30 neon tetras and move whatever is in my 27g hex into it. Plants. And a really create a nice aquascape.
The issue im having is my mom has a 36 inch long 30g reef. Unfortunatly she insisted on wanting a yellow tang back then, and i rescued a nearly dead common foxface from petco awhile back. Theyre both in that tank just by themselvs. She now wants to go back to fresh water as well. So i dunno what to do with the foxface and tang. I cant put them in my 135g as much as i want because i have a sailfin and yellow in there. And they are MEAN, and i also have a foxface and i read theyll fight eachother.
Should i cave in and just convert ny moms tank to fresh ? If i do that my idea of 30-40 neons ina big hexagon will be gone. But the tang and foxface will have a much bigger tank to go too the 60g hex. I also can finally get rock in that tank. I have about 50lbs of rock in her 30g atm.
I just hate my 60hex being salt. Its acrylic and acrylic tanks have permanent tops with tiny openeings. And it makes it Soo hard to clean coraline off the inside panels.. fresh water never gets dirty panels so its easy to clean up.
Sorry for the long post.
