As long as the three kitties don't count :D

Oh and I love my kitty too! One and only one though! Ha!

She is already getting bigger than she was when she was born, makes me kinda sad already, but I also can't wait for her to be able to talk to us :)

My Elisa (Ellie) Rose just turned 7. Cherish every Second cause a year goes by in 8hrs of continually interrupted sleep. Lol.
She is already a lot bigger than she was when we brought her home! It's really weird to see a tub of formula slowly turn into a baby! :D

LFS had pearly jawfish and springer's damsels on sale, and my wife's favorite fish is the pearly jaw, so I got one of each. While I was there I saw they had one candy stripe pistol shrimp left! I have been looking for one for around 8 months now to try and pair up with with my watchman goby.

I'm also trading in the big rock with snake polyps for a Starcki damsel. They've been looking for one for a while now for me and finally had one of their coral wholesalers that's had one in their coral tank for a year now, said they'd catch it and ship it on their next shipment. :)

Tank is mulling along. Still having loads of algae issues. My Reef Octopus 110 skimmer just isn't keeping up. Ordered a Coral Box D500 as a replacement. It shipped direct from Hong Kong, so hopefully it will arrive in a timely manner. I also ordered a cleanup crew consisting of FL ceriths, Caribbean turbos, nassarius, and Astraea snails, along with a sand sifting starfish. I've kept these starfish in the past and they do an excellent job of keeping the sand turned over, which is desperately needed in this tank.

I also bought a Jebao RW-8. The Gyre 130 just isn't working well on the 40 with my rock layout and where my overflow is on the end. If I put the Gyre on the overflow pushing to the opposite end, it keeps water from going into the overflow and the tank fills right up to the rim. If I have it on the opposite end pushing towards the overflow, the overflow is noisy from more water sloshing into it. I took it out and put the eductors back on the returns, but there are SO many microbubbles in the water that it the tank is very hazy and not great to look at, so I took them back off. Going to give the RW-8 a shot.

I also sold my ATI Nanobox hybrid light. With four T5 and a crapload of the most efficient LEDs available, it's just much too powerful. I also miss having individual color control and also miss the intense power of Bridgelux Veros - nothing compares to them. I have most all of the parts to put together a new light to be enclosed by a white CNCreef Asis Pro hybrid heatsink with a pair of 24" T5HO. Will have three clusters of LEDs - one 4000K 90CRI Vero 10, two Luxeon M royal blue, three Rebel blue, one Rebel cyan, two Rebel ES lime, and four SemiLEDs C35L violet.

Fish list is basically still the same. In the past few weeks I've purchased a pearly jawfish, springer's damsel, pygmy hawkfish, and a starry blenny, and the damsel is the only one that has actually survived, though after going through QT and getting into the display, it immediately went through the overflow to the sump, and after catching it and putting it back in the display five times so far, I decided that its new home is the sump, and I've named it Sumpy :)

Wait dude you sold that light? Darn you should have told me I wouldn't have taken it off your hands.

Im having issues with all three balast of my ATI 6 bulb T5.. Sending it to ATI this weekend.

Beautiful family bro!

After nearly four hours of work (had trouble getting my blood sugar up the whole time, so it took an excruciating amount of time) and two trips to Home Depot, I got my UV sterilizer installed yesterday. Left for my parents' house literally 30 minutes after powering everything back up, and just got home a little bit ago. ####tons of schmutz everywhere, but 100% of all dinoflagellate strings are gone. For those keeping track, that's 24 hours for a nearly 100% change (but it will never be 100%, so unfortunately without a strong UV, they will always come back).

In other tank news, besides dinos trying to kill my new gorgs, I got another clownfish on Saturday. This was, realistically, my last try - my big black female clown just likes to kill other clowns. She'll be civil with them for a day or so, then usually go on a terror spree. This time, she sized up the other clown immediately, then kept almost nudging it back to the anemone. The next day the new clown was chillin in the nem with the big *****. Maybe this is the one!

The last week was pretty good. Didn't have to work (same with next week), and got to see lots of family.

And of course, it was Ellie's first christmas.

And this is a, uh, thing my grandpa made in their backyard and put a little plane on top, they decided to slather it with lights lol

Well we know your fish will never be over weight. I bet they burn allot of calories with all that flow. LOL Your little one is adorable. Our daughter just turned 2 a few weeks ago. She use to be that small. Now she knows how to say no, and throw things at you when she knows they will break. She is most definitely my favorite person ever.

This was her at about 3 months with Me and Ashley.

Yeah, they are always going with the flow! :D even the betta does really well with it. Took a bit of time to really adjust to it, but now she can hover in place using just her pectoral fins, its really cool!

Your little one is cute! I just tucked away Ellie's newborn and 0-3 months clothes. She is growing too fast :(

Everything arrived ok from LiveAquaria, though they were out of yellow Fiji leathers! They said they'll ship it as soon as it comes in, but unfortunately I go back to work Monday.

The flow is pushing the plugs around a little bit, of course when I placed the order I forgot to also order another tube of epoxy to keep them in place lol.

Also traded a rock of snake polyps (Isaurus tuberculatus) for an ORA neon sinularia and a yellow polyp sinularia and paid the difference in them. The neon is BRIGHT.

Broke out the DSLR.

My springeri damsel thinks the big leather from DD is an acropora and is hiding from the starcki damsel within the 'branches' lol
IMG_5047.jpg

The polyps on this leather are really tiny, and don't have the 'stalks' that toadstool and finger leathers have. I'm calling it an 'SPL' - small polyped leather. :)
IMG_5058.jpg

IMG_5065.jpg

This leather will not stop dropping pieces off! I want it to grow to a larger size but instead it just keeps dropping bits off!
IMG_5068.jpg

Big female clown is back to being all black, the orange stripe is gone.

One of the said babies from the leather.

Love this fish!
IMG_5103.jpg

And this one!
IMG_5110.jpg

OH GOD AND THIS ONE
IMG_5143.jpg

IMG_5155.jpg

I love how this fish is so blue and metallic that the camera sensor has no clue what to do, it took probably 15 minutes of fiddling in Lightroom to get to this, and this isn't even close to how good it looks in reality. Very underrated fish.

Basket star I don't know how long it will make it. It almost completely refuses to spread out and take food.
IMG_5206.jpg

Another of the leather babies. You can see the discoloration in the water from the UV sterilizer going full force 24/7. I am thinking of a small timer to run it only at night and see if the discoloration goes away, it's awful.
