Hey everyone I need some interceptor bad my bugs have finally caused my tank issues. If any of y’all have any I can pay you via PayPal if you’re willing to send me some here in Texas. Not having any luck at all with local vets. I would be greatly appreciative for the help. Thanks -Addison

Check eBay if you don't have any luck here. There is usually always someone selling it there.

Lol you’re right. I just ordered an opened box of the medium size chewables. Hopefully it’s easy to figure out the dosage because everything I’ve read about using the plus is the large breed one. Do you know the dosage per mg or whatever?

Pretty sure you cant use the chewable ones it needs to be the pills. You need to get it from a vet cal a local exotic animal vet and explain whats going on and what read bugs are and why you need pills of de wormer for a fish tank. My vet was super interested and helpful. Gave me a liquid form call Ivermectin which was very effective. Be care asking to buy a controlled prescription medication.
Another option is Bayer dipping and QT all acros until you break the life cycle.

You can use anything with Milbemycin Oxime in it - chewable, not, interceptor, sentinel, etc. The original dosage was using 23mg... so do you math from there.

Some will have some Prazi in it - totally fine to dose.

Sorry I need a refresher on how many gallon 23mg treats water volume wise. I ordered the medium chew tabs on eBay earlier today I got 2 full boxes for $65. They’re 12.5 or 11.5 mg. Would you recommend a higher dosage for the black/grey type? They’re aren’t pitch black like I’ve seen in the past for grey than anything. I also ordered two dragon face pipefish. To see if they actually take to the bugs I know it’s a long shot but they were $26 each nothing worry about.

To the poster that mentioned ivermectin. This is available as a live stock dewormer and is found at most all farm stores. I know for sure tractor supply sells it.

I've read (elsewhere) about a recommended dose rate of 2 mL of 1% Ivermectin solution per 10L of water. For those here that have used Ivermectin...what dose did you use?

Also...would it actually be safe for whole tank treatment like Milbemycin Oxime was...or should it just be used as a bath/QT method?

Just saw this, never knew??
Ingredients: Milbemcyn oxime, Vitamin C, and RO/DI Water.
Dr.G's SPS & LPS Coral Dip Solution

I used Dr.G's coral dip to treat my entire system for Red Bugs. I used 1ml per gallon.

no directions for whole system treating, what concentration is it...

I treated my entire system several years back with Dr. G's Coral Dip to treat for Red Bugs.

No one had done this at the time so I went with 1ml per gallon. Worked perfectly fine. Make sure to remove all invertebrates.

Thanks very much, no Redbug currently but sounds like a good dip for new coral. Sorry to the OP, not hijacking the thread, good luck with your treatment, I did it two years ago successfully and probably did not do nearly the recommended size of water changes.

Be careful just using this dip. MBE does nothing for flatworms nor spiders that I can tell.

This is probably a good dip to use along with Bayer or some CoralRx.

Hmm well that’s why it works better than anything else on the bugs. Thanks for sharing that info.
After I run through 20-24 inceptor pills I ordered I’m going to pick a bottle been awhile I got soft and started dippingnew comers with revive .

Just out curiosity how many gallons did you do on your volume at the time? I have done 25% in the past. Honestly my current tank I loose color if do anymore than 10% so I’m on the fences about doing anymore I usually do.

I mean another reefer and a good friend of mine told me not to bother doing a w/c period, but he said if makes you feel better don’t anything bigger than 10% since inceptors really reef safe. Just crank the skimmer up and run a modest amount of Carbon for 36-48 hours.

Dr Holmes-Farley once opined that the structure of both Levamisole and Milbemycin Oxime would probably break down in 24 hours in a reef tank... give or take. This was opinion based on the composition, not science. The point was that they would start to get attacked and break down quickly.

Interesting Randy knows what he’s talking about generally lol! Then I started to think about the reason for the water changes afterwards. I would assume it more so for he “die off” (marcolife that die as a result). No so much for the interceptor.

I'm in Texas and have some Interceptor. Sent you a DM. Let me know if you still want/need some. I have a link saved somewhere in my bookmarks with the full tank dosing formula.
