In your opinion what is better.... an in-line TDS meter or handheld and why?

I've been making RO/DI water using Aquatic Life twist-in 4 stage system but have not been monitoring TDS. I just replace the sediment, carbon and DI canisters every 6 months and RO membrane annually.

I'm thinking of trying to use a TDS meter to monitor more closely.

InIine meter. 1st sensor after RO and 2nd after DI.

I run my RO down the drain until the number bottoms out before using DI. If your waters as bad as mine it makes a big difference.

At least a dual In-line so you can easily check before the water goes into the di and after. On about $30.

Over the years we've come to favor inline meters because we find customers are more likely to actually pay attention to them/use them. For a typical RODI system in this hobby, you'll want an inline meter with THREE probes: 1) feedwater, 2) RO water, and 3) DI water.
