We alllll love posting pics and sharing our reefs and systems we have running them. But rarely do we see what the real work looks like to keep them thriving and beautiful on display.

I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's systems look like opened up, everything off, ready for a water change. No shame in my game ;)... thought it would be fun. And cool to see different ways everyone "does their thing"

I feel the pride in getting my hands dirty is what makes it mine, my creation, my slice of the ocean as we say.

The first person to post a pic of a Doser doing an auto water change gets a boot! Haha. Please share!

Water change in 2 weeks.......thread saved and waiting for a pic.

This thread should be interesting. I bet some people have ingenious ways to do it easier, or better.

I’m hoping to get some ideas. This should be a great thread!

I have a remote room for my tank, on a slab. I could use some good ideas!

With my basement sump, I love doing my weekly maintenance! Not rubbing it! (okay a little)

Hey, I'm getting older and ease of maintenance makes me enjoy my tank just that much more.

On that note, anything you can do to make it easier and still hands on is worth it.

We will be awaiting the water change pic! Haha

My aquarium passion has turned on & off over the years . Sometimes I'm all over it. Sometimes I put it off cause it's a hassle. I was in the off mode for a while but I feel it coming back again ! I'll post a pic when
It's time for another Water change & cleaning . A week or two .

I am in the same rollercoaster dip now. It gets old, but I still love it, especially once I'm done

That is my Saturday morning routine, if I need RODI go flip a switch. Now for water changes every 5 weeks is a bit different. I have to drag a hose to dump the water and then move it to the mixing tank

In my old house, water changes was a joy.... open here and out with the waste. Push a switch and here come the new water mixed 24 prior...Lord I miss my old house!

I yearn for the day for 50ft of blue line, a couple in-line ball valves and a float switch shutoff. Got to buy a house first? 34years old. Never jumped. Never stressed

Well my water change barrel sprung a leak a couple weeks ago and if I buy a new one then I'll have to do a water change sooo ya, not very motivated to go to home depot (but this thread is tempting me)! Tagging along

I had to rip some sheet rock out of the bathroom wall,(the tank was on the other wall) and the sink was close by, so I cut the pipe going up the wall and added the drain to the sink. to bring new water in ran a pipe and wire overhead in the attic space to the garage. I try to do that on the new house but the builder was a butt about it!
