Good day one and all
Im honestly clueless, my return pump stopped working. Bought a new return pump
Installed it in my tank
It works , however everytime i stick my finger in the tank or sump i get shocked
I tried running just the new return pump in a bucket and in the tank absolutely no shock
I then started by switching off everything and switching one thing on at a time
Everytime i put heaters on it gives me a shock
Weird part is 3 of these heaters are brand new
I then tried taking two heaters from my other tank and causing a shock
Only when i put heaters in the tank i get a shock
Can someone maybe help me out or give me some advice please as i am totally confused at this moment
Thank you

tank and sump is 1200litres
Heaters are eheim 300w

How are they plugged in.

Sorry and please forgive me for my ignorance but i don’t understand the question entirely
Ive got them plugged into a multiple plug

forgot to mention
My plumbing (return pipe) 25mm is cable tired strap to the steel stand
Could that cause an issue? Was wired strapped temporarily because i changed pumps so need to change plumbing

Power strip, wall outlet like that. If power strip it maybe faulty.

Had the same problem but without adding anything.
Turns out 1 of 2 heaters had a minute leak, allowing voltage to hit the water, when I unplugged, no stray voltage and thus no further shock.

Plug in one at a time, one of them is bad.

May i ask, what is a minute leak? Thank you
Will give it a try

Could it be the return pump i added? I did run it in a bucket of fresh water and absolutely no shocks
Pump is a sobo eco 100 pa

it only started shocking once i put the new return pump in however cant find the culprit that is giving off voltage

Sorry, it had a tiny, tiny leak through the glass in my case allowing current to enter the water which is a conductor.

One electrical device seems to be shorting out in your waters, stop all, then one at a time. Plug in, test Using a meter for voltage then unplug.

If none show leakage, then start to plug in one by one but leave them on to see if there’s some type of overload.

From a safety point of view, all electric devices used in and around water need to be plugged into a GFCI circuit, this will protect you and your fish from electrocution.

Are you still using the power strip?
