I have been researching appropriate skimmer for a 75g DT. I have a 40g breeder I am converting to a sump. I was thinking the Choralife 125 would work. Are there other skimmers out there which are at a great price for their performance? I have looked through eshopps and reef octopus, and thought there might be some options which aren't as widely advertised. Thanks in advance.

I would recommend a RLSS R6-I. Another good skimmer would be aquamaxx ConeS CO 1.

I did some more research and thought I would share for those interested.

If price is what your concerned about, I would go with the Reef Octopus INT. IMO it comes down to the pump more than anything and octopus' have decent pumps. I'd go Vertex Omega 150 but that doesn't seem to be in your price range.

The pumps were going to be the next part of my research. I know little to nothing about them, especially from a comparison stand point. What type of pump/needles would you go with?
